ArtistECard.com, the Electronic Press Kit (EPK) builder, has recently released a new EPK as well as the Facebook Artist Page App. The latest EPK builder provides several new distinctive features to its users and the Facebook App is entirely free.

The new EPK offers ten new template designs that the user can change anytime. With the new background rotation feature, up to three backgrounds will rotate on the page; the user selects the time in between rotations. Music Player skins have also been updated. There are 20 Music Player backgrounds available.

The improved EPK supports YouTube and Vimeo videos without the hassle of uploading. Users just copy and paste the video link from the address bar.

Artists can also choose three extra menu items. The makers at ArtistEcard.com explain their simple process: “Let’s say you have a Blog or Website; you just add those items to menu, specify the URL and you’re done.”

For those without a logo, ArtistECard.com offers a Logo Generator. The user simply writes the text, picks a color and a font. After hitting “Accept,” the logo automatically inserts onto the user’s page. The EPK also includes three predestined HTML Email templates from which to choose.

Lastly, ArtistEcard.com has upgraded payment options to include PayPal and credit cards through a secure web connection in the hopes of improving user experience.

The new Facebook App, Artist Page, allows artists to display their EPK’s on Facebook and build a bigger, stronger and better fan base. This App is fully customizable and allows users to add a bio, news, shows, photos, and videos. Just click Connect to login and add the page to the Facebook account.

The Facebook app is a completely free option and no EPK subscription is necessary. Users just need to sign up via ArtistEcard.com.

Free Facebook App for Artists

As you might noticed, recently we released major update and the most exciting thing that we added is Facebook App “Artist Page” (see demo). Artist Page allows artists to display their EPKs on Facebook and build bigger, stronger and better fan base. Artist Page automatically pulls information from your ArtistEcard.com EPK and displays on Facebook. Very easy to set up. This app is also fully customizable and you do not have to pay extra to get more features. You can easily change themes, colors, add bio, video, music, contact information.
How to do this:
You need to set up your EPK on ArtistEcard.com first, add your bio, photos, music, video …
Click on “Connect” button, login to Facebook account , click on “Add to Page” and you are done!”

You can change music player image and change songs order.

Video
Video upload was slightly changed, now we support videos from YouTube, you do not have to upload videos, just copy entire YouTube link from address bar, paste it and video will be pulled automatically from YouTube.

Logo & Themes
We added Backgrounds Rotation option; just select how many seconds you need and your background images will rotate.

In couple weeks we will release Templates option which will allow to change EPK templates anytime, we will keep you posted about new updates

What Electronic Press Kit (EPK) stands for?

Electronic press kit works as a portfolio or business card for artists: Musicians, Djs, Models… An electronic press kit is a traditional promo package in digital form. An electronic press kit, also known as an EPK, always contains bio info about the musician and info about releases but can also include press photos, videos, info about upcoming tour dates, backline requirements and more.

Why do you need EPK?

Let’s say you are a musician and trying to book a concert, get a record deal, or network. You are calling a booking agent and he asks for your résumé (EPK), if you don’t have EPK, you probably will not get booked.

Press kits vs Electronic Press Kits

If you are using printed press kits with CDs, it will cost you a lot of money and time to create and send those, and print new ones with updated information. With an EPK you avoid the postage and mail fees, avoid having the booking agent or the promoter wait. EPK also is a green solution. It is easier to cram info into an electronic press kit than a traditional promo package. However, be aware that not everyone you wish to target with a press package is open to receiving EPKs - be sure to find out the preferences of the people you are contacting.
